Keswick. May 8. 1809Dear Sir
All the books concerning America (except Pauws Researches1 which shall be returned with the South Sea cargo) are dispatched this day, to go by waggon from Penrith, – the Ramayuna2 & the poem upon the Restoration of Literature in Hindostan3 are included in the parcel. This nights post will take the American article; – it is a review of Holmess Annals, – naturally concluding with a sketch of the state of Society in the United States.4
– The last proof has arrived while I am writing. – I am obliged to Turner for his solicitude. My little boy, God be praised, has been saved, & is now recovering from the effects of the violent remedies which preserved him.
I have now nothing before me except the Missionary article.5
