1422. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, 9 February 1808*
My dear Grosvenor
I have a daughter Emma born into the world this afternoon, & a bouncing daughter she is.
You will see me in about 18 days, for I shall be a fortnight on the road. If meantime there be any of thing forthcoming from the Exchequer to the most loyal & deserving of his Majestys pensioners, do you forward it as tho I were at home, – it will come seasonably to an empty purse –
God bless you RS.
Feby 9. 1808.
